Waiting for fish..

This sketch of ‘Dave & Bird’ was inspired by a man and seagull who I saw in Cadgwith sat on a bench looking out to sea.. waiting for the local fishermen to come in.

From the sketch I decided to make them into a life-size sculpture piece - called ‘Waiting for Fish’ highlighting the importance of keeping the local tradition of small boat fishing alive and hopefully posing the question of where our fish comes from.

Raising awareness about the impacts of overfishing on our communities and marine life.

Dave & Bird were offered a forever home in Porthleven harbour in Cornwall, to be a free and accessible public sculpture - I launched a Crowdfunder in May to raise the money to cast them in bronze so that they could live there permanently: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/waitingforfish we had a huge amount of support from everyone and got the funding.
